Antique trumeau in walnut burl, Lombardy, Italy, 19th century.

Lombard trumeau from the late 19th century, made of walnut and walnut burl, with elegant ebonised frames and mouldings. The upper part features two doors with mercury mirrors and two candle drawers below, while the pediment with carved volutes adds a distinctive touch. The base has a drop-down revealing an interior compartment with four drawers and a central open space. The three lower drawers, slightly curved like the sides, are supported by forty-five degree posts and rest on volute feet. The spruce interiors provide strength and durability, while the overall style makes this piece a refined example of Lombard craftsmanship.
