Beautiful console or corner cabinet with a door in the Napoléon III style, made of rosewood and veneered wood with floral marquetry and arabesques. The central door features a diamond-shaped decoration with a central marquetry composition depicting a flower-filled urn surrounded by scrolls and foliage, framed by gilded brass fillets. The frieze of the upper drawer is adorned with marquetry of roses and acanthus leaves. The supports are formed by turned columns in blackened wood with bases and capitals in gilded bronze. The top is made of veined red marble with cut corners, edged with a bronze fillet. The piece rests on four turned feet. This type of console with marquetry and bronze fittings is very characteristic of Parisian cabinetmaking from the second half of the 19th century, in the tradition of great houses like Zwiener, Dasson, or Beurdeley.
