rare applique 1st Empire solid bronze Egyptian sphinx

Rare wall light from the First Empire period, made of solid bronze, featuring an antique caryatid. 18th century. A sphinx with an Egyptian head. The back arms are decorated with griffins. A lion's head is at the bottom of the wall light. Spectacular model, beautifully chiselled with great finesse, superb patina. Wall light by Claude Galle from the year 1808. May need to revisit the electrification. Height 57cm, width 35cm, depth 12cm.
