Column, press screw

Here we present an antique press screw mounted on a stand, a handsome 136 cm tall, repurposed in the 1920s or 30s. Its successful conversion into a pedestal allows it to display and, above all, showcase a lamp, a statue, or even a beautiful vase in an interior whose dimensions are perfectly suited to this elegant column. The old wood, undeniably solid and likely dating from the 19th century, was restored in the 20th century for a completely different purpose, perhaps following the demise of a press of which this screw was the central component.
