Louis XVI Directoire style flat desk

Louis XVI / Directoire style flat desk. Work of the second half of the 20th century, of fine craftsmanship. Structure: Made of veneered wood (probably cherry or light mahogany), it features a rectangular top with a mitred frame. Top: Darkened with green leather (or high-quality faux leather) adorned with a gilded vignette (frieze of Greek patterns or scrolls). Front: Opens with five drawers in two rows (one large central drawer and two side units with two drawers each). The drawer fronts are highlighted by dark wood fillets and enhanced with ring pull handles and a central lock entry in patinated bronze. Legs: It rests on four tapered and covered legs, ending in square bronze (or brass) feet. Condition: Overall good condition of the structure. Note some signs of use on the leather (discolorations and small stains visible in the detail photos).
