This refectory table is made from solid oak. The wooden pegs/blocks have been replaced. It has been waxed and has a lovely soft/silky feel. It was likely made in the early 20th century and, as a result, is in good overall condition for its age. The term "refectory" became popular in the 19th and 20th centuries as demand for monastic-style furniture increased. In modern times, due to their robust construction, they are popular for traditional and modern farmhouse decor. There was a minor woodworm issue in the past, but this has been addressed and no longer exists. It also adds to the table's patina. It comfortably seats 4 to 6 people. It measures 160 cm in length X 76 cm in width and 76 cm in height. This model will be delivered with the legs unassembled, so please note that assembly will be very light.
