Table "André" by Tobia Scarpa for Gavina - 1967-68

Table "André" in a square shape designed by Tobia Scarpa, in its rare Gavina edition, produced only between 1967 and 1968, just before the brand was acquired by Knoll. A very short period that gives this model a special place in the vintage design market. This version features a clear glass top measuring 120 X 120 cm with a frosted edge, highlighting the visual of the base, an iconic structure made of cast aluminium with its four cylindrical legs. The overall design presents a strong architectural reading, characteristic of Italian design from the late 1960s. The base, with its visible metal crossbars and fixings punctuated by small discs, visually structures the space beneath the top and enhances the graphic character of the piece. In superb condition, the tawny leather pads have been preserved.
