This is a photo on albumen paper. It is laminated on cardboard, note some freckles on the margin and upside down, yellowed edges. Albumen papers are made as follows: a sheet of fine paper of good quality is floated on a bath composed of a mixture of sodium chloride or ammonium and albumin (beaten and decanted egg whites).
