Mid-Century Modern "Red Quarry" Swedish Vintage Abstract Landscape Oil Painting, Framed

A very well executed and textured mid century modernist semi-abstract composition in oil, painted onto board. Painted in shades of sanguine, the artist has reduced the landscape of the quarry down to the outline of forms, focusing on the shape, texture, and line of the rocks and the ground. Punctuating the centre of the composition is a green tree, which brings balance and a sense of depth to the landscape. Housed in its original mid century frame with a dark wood outer border and an inner linen lined window, this painting is in very good vintage condition. There are some minor scuffs to the frame but these do not detract from the overall attractiveness of the piece. Size: 37.5 X 70 cm (including frame).
