A striking sculptural table lamp from 1960s France, hand-turned from a single dense burl wood trunk. The form follows the natural figure of the burl — a tapering, droplet-shaped body rising from an organic, free-form base that retains a section of natural live edge, contrasting beautifully with the polished, turned upper section. The burl displays dramatic figuring throughout: warm honey-amber tones shifting into near-black mineral streaking, with dense eye-pattern clusters and natural voids left exposed as part of the design. No two sides are alike — a true one-off piece shaped by the wood itself rather than imposed upon it. The lamp has been professionally rewired and refitted with a new brass fitting, ready for immediate use. Sold with a new pyramid cone-shaped linen shade in natural oatmeal tone. The base measures 48 cm and incl the shade 68 cm ( diameter 35 cm ) The lamp is fitted for a general E27 lightbulb.
