Where most ikat compositions work in tight repeats, this one lets the motifs breathe — wide white areas expand across the center field, giving the piece a loose, painterly quality. No panels, no patchwork; the ikat runs edge to edge across the entire face. Size: 16 X 24 inches / 40 X 60 cm. Cover only, insert not included. Silk threads are bound and dyed before the weaving begins, so the pattern builds itself into the fabric as the loom runs rather than being applied afterward. Not printed; the pattern is woven directly into the fabric structure. The large oval forms visible on the face are a direct result of how the dyed yarn aligns during weaving; no two pieces come out identical.
