Burnt wooden mirror. Handmade in France. Unique and numbered piece. Burning heart design: A history born of containment A memory of a trip to Japan And two people Caroline and Jerome reflect on a unique way to frame the mirror in their living room by remaking their home, at the turn of a saw, an old mirror and some salvaged planks. Fascinated by the rendering and captivated by the streaks of burnt wood, thus born BURNING HEART: the burnt heart of wood and the chance of the traits that fire draws following the lifelines of a tree (dead), cut for the benefit of world trade and unsustainable. This wood is for them like an animal victim of an oil spill, shipwrecked from the consumer society, crammed at the entrance of a city; so far from the respect we should bring to a tree. Caroline and Jerome retrieve this wood, which has often served very little, touch it, cut it and cut it to end up caressing it. They respect him, give him life again through what should have ended up destroying him: fire. Each piece of wood is carefully worked, several times cut in order to take shape under the imagination of the carpenter's couple. This same wood, renobled, is sometimes painted to bring touches of color. The inspiration of this artistic couple leads them to want to express themselves through this material without adding mirrors. This is how the BURNING ART line was born. For some, the lines and various versions of black may evoke Pierre SOULAGE. Others, in creating some of their patchworks will think of Piet MONDRIAN. But in their eyes it is: BURNING HEART, a four-handed project, unique works and mirrors, produced in France by hand and numbered.
