Charged with tradition and authenticity, this beautiful nursing chair is an emotive testament to French rural furniture. Probably originating from Brittany, where straw weaving and turned woodwork were highly valued ancestral crafts. Made of solid wood with a lovely dark patina, it features a particularly elegant high and openwork backrest: a curved upper arch topped with turned finials, spindles arranged in a harmonious fan shape, and connected by a horizontal central rail. The straw seat is woven in an original radiating geometric pattern (stars and chevrons) that adds a warm and artisanal touch. The legs are finely turned, and the stretchers are well-crafted, with the front rail adorned with a charming pattern of openwork arcades that adds a refined and distinctive note. Ideal for chic country decor, family homes, vintage interiors, or as an accent piece near a fireplace. Its rustic style and slender silhouette integrate perfectly into an authentic and warm atmosphere. H 110 cm × W max 40 cm × D 40 cm. Very good vintage condition. Solid and stable structure. Beautiful wood patina with some signs of wear and marks of time that give it all its charm (visible in the photos). The straw seat is in generally good condition, with intact weaving and a uniform aged colour. What we particularly love: – The sophisticated openwork backrest with fan-shaped spindles and turned finishes. – The decorative front rail with arcade motifs. – The straw seat with a unique and warm geometric pattern. – Its authenticity and connection to Breton rural heritage. A unique piece that will bring a beautiful soul and a touch of history to your interior! Careful packaging.
