Pray God

We offer here an authentic prie-dieu (1920s-30s) in a remarkable state of conservation. If, sometimes, such furniture has damaged tapestries, this one offers a period decor without a hitch. When the tones may have faded slightly, it is only to prove that it carries with it marks of time which have had no effect on its condition. The cabinetry (perhaps walnut) is perfect. If a slight lack on a crosspiece appears (for the rare veneer parts), it is to better display an eternal "form"... From a prie-dieu, we expect no less! And what about the feet on the facade, whose elegance testifies to excellent craftsmanship. The photos then speak for themselves. The "elbow rest" (well padded) is also in keeping with the tone, since in its center, a cross appears in the tapestry. Another cross, more imposing, occupies the center of the vertical woodwork, surrounded by rays of sunlight, as a mark of resurrection, rather than passion. The general appearance of this armchair is rather gothic which makes it a real piece of furniture of undeniable quality. Even the padding of the "kneeling seat" is still welcoming. The floral decor is light and discreet. While many are also part of a Napoleon III movement, by presenting colors... Black, this one brings freshness thanks to its more joyful tones. Still called prayer chairs, these armchairs now contribute more to decoration, or even to serve as an extra for a seat on which children, in particular, feel good. But nothing prevents you from resting your knees there, to meditate, or not... We are then far from the "discomforts" that a "prayer chair" made of wood and straw would provide, most of the time.
