Niderviller emerald green column candle holder

Charming antique column-shaped candlestick in enamelled ceramic in a pretty emerald green colour. It appears blue in some photos, the photo on a dark background shows its real colour, a beautiful emerald green that is often found on ceramics from the 1950s. This is a model offered by the niderviller earthenware factory (stamp composed of two cs, one of which is inverted, intertwined and topped with a crown underneath and it is difficult to read niderviller). I would date it from the 1950s because of this green colour, but without absolute certainty, having failed to date the stamp. This candlestick is in good general condition, no cracks or chips, but has a clearly visible mark but fortunately located on one side of the base, a sort of pale green discolouration that extends underneath by a surplus of material, it seems to me that it is an original defect, a firing defect perhaps. And I even think that this defect allows us to trace its history! In fact, I found it less than 5 kilometers from the niderviller earthenware factory, and I don't think it ever went any further. In fact, the pieces with defects were probably taken away by the factory workers. In the 80s, the "failed" pieces were even thrown into huge piles outside the factory and the locals (of which I was one when I was a child) would go and pick up the ones that interested them, because some didn't seem to have any defects. I brought back some adorable egg cups, sometimes unglazed, which we liked to decorate with paint. It measures 25 cm in height, its base is a square measuring 9.5 cm on each side, the upper part that holds the candle measures 6 cm on each side and the hole for the candle has a diameter of 2.5 cm.
