The earthen bowl is in perfect condition, no accidents, no cracks or chips. This is a very beautiful pottery from orléans, called "cul-noir", because of the dark brown enamels which were used to protect the exterior. These traditional pottery were intended for culinary use. The cracked interior very typical of this type of piece is original. It should be noted that it is quite rare to find “cul-noir” pottery from this period in such a state of conservation. French pottery production dating from the mid-19th century.
