Vintage Provençal jar, glazed terracotta, Foucard-Jourdan Vallauris

Superb vintage Provençal confit/olive jar or pot in glazed terracotta, featuring a beautiful patinated mustard yellow glaze. This type of pot was traditionally used in the kitchens of southern France to preserve olives, confits, or other preparations. The underside bears the mark of Foucard-Jourdan Vallauris, slightly faded but clearly present. The Foucard-Jourdan factory, active until 1995, is part of a long pottery tradition dating back to the 17th century. Its generous shape, luminous glaze, and signs of time give it an authentic rustic charm.
