Stunning engraved copperplate print by a well-known contemporary japanese artist and director of the japan print association (jpa). Yukio fukazawa 深沢幸雄 1924-2017 yukio fukazawa was born in 1924 in yamanashi prefecture. During world war ii, he was injured during an air attack by american bombers on tokyo. He was unable to walk for life because of this injury. In 1948, yukio fukazawa graduated from tokyo art college. He had studied the technique of copper engraving, partly self-taught and partly at art school. This should remain his media of choice. In the 1950s and 1960s, the young contemporary japanese artist attracted the attention of the japanese artistic community and later in the 1970s, the international public. Yukio fukazawa's prints are characterized by his desire to express feelings and inner thoughts. Art critics have used the expression lyrical prints to describe the works of this great contemporary japanese artist. Japanese art signed and numbered- 1982 - yukio fukazawa- ep. Of one.
