Pair of mirrors Annonay

Set of two small wall mirrors, rectangular portrait format. Border frame covered with the annonay pattern = black speckled paper (ink stain style), on a colored background; here a yellow & a green. Good condition, some wear and tear (see photos) Around 1820, the canson paper mill invented a new decorative technique for so-called "faux-marbled" papers = projecting the color directly onto a sheet with a brush; the "annonay" motif is still used today on artists' drawing boards.
