Very beautiful oil on canvas by the Belgian painter Romain Steppe (1859 - 1927), dating from the late 19th century or the very early 20th century. The painting is signed at the bottom left. It depicts a seascape, showing three boats approaching the port. Overall good condition, needs cleaning, with a small hole to mention (see photos) and some paint loss at the edges where the old frame was. Keyed stretcher. Dimensions: Length: 70 cm. Height: 49 cm. "Romain Steppe, born in Antwerp on 13 January 1859 and died in Saint-Amand on 28 November 1927, is a Belgian painter. His pictorial field, of realistic style with an impressionistic touch, mainly covers landscapes and seascapes. He was admitted in 1888 as a member of the artistic circle Als ik Kan."
