A wonderful mid-century French ceramic kitchen set dating to the 1950s, made in the distinctive Pol Chambost style that became iconic in post-war French kitchens. These colourful ceramic table pieces were designed both for everyday use and as cheerful decorative objects, bringing bright modern colour to the dining table. The set includes a tall “vinaigre” vinegar bottle with its original cork stopper, together with three small lidded pots labelled sel (salt), poivre (pepper), and beurre (butter). Each piece features the characteristic raised triangular label with hand-painted black lettering, a design detail strongly associated with Chambost-inspired ceramics of the period. Originally these sets often included an oil bottle as well, making surviving groups like this increasingly sought after by collectors of French mid-century kitchenware.
