Pair of bedside tables, side tables or guéridons in rustic style, probably originating from Eastern Europe or the Balkans, made of light beech wood. The top features hand-carved sculptures using a chip carving technique reminiscent of Art Deco style. The central motif is an eight-petalled rosette (often referred to as a rose of the winds or solar star), a traditional symbol commonly found in mountain folk art (Carpathians, Alps or Balkans). These are quadruped tables, with tapered and slanted legs that somewhat resemble the Scandinavian compass design of the 1950s-1960s, but with a handcrafted execution as evidenced by the visible screws on the wooden supports. This type of object falls under the category of Folk Art, which is currently highly sought after for Rustic Chic or Boho interior decoration. Renovation possible for an additional €120. Width 30, depth 30, height 45.
