Ceramic vase with crackled glaze decorated with red and gold floral motifs by gustave asch (1856-1911) signed under the base "105 france" and with the artist's "axe", in red glaze. Active towards the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, gustave asch is particularly known for his "tours blue", a dark blue enamel close to the famous "sèvres blue". He produced glazed ceramic vases in his workshops in tours, which he decorated with delicate naturalist motifs in gold. In 1887, gustave asch transferred his ceramic decoration workshops from tours to sainte radegonde and installed the equipment necessary for the production and firing of pastes. Towards the end of his life, he ran a ceramic workshop with his wife, née charlotte glavany, at 91 rue st louis in paris.
