The velvet of the chirvan is always wool and small elongated as our model, presenting beautiful colors, a deep red, two types of blue, black, brown and cream. Its décor of large stylized flowers and its cypress in the center is unique to these carpets, but the chirvan decorations are the same variety as in the other caucasian pieces. It should be kept in mind that these regions suffered many invasions which explains the disparate nature of the motifs used in the ornamentation of these pieces which always retain an authentic and tribal expression. Dimensions: width: 100 cm (3'3" ) X length: 157 cm (5'2" ) Wear on the whole, which gives it a nice patina. The last photo shows the back of this rug. This carpet of great beauty and delicacy of drawing and coloring is a pure jewel of early 20th century caucasian art. The density of this part is about 360, 000 knots at the m2.
