According to andré charles boulle: old reproduction (mid-20th century) of the eight-legged chest of drawers called "sarcophagus" made for king louis his soul in this creation the architectural forms and general lines are embellished, without being smothered, by the details and the abundance of gilded bronzes the chest of drawers has an overall shape of a sarcophagus and has two large superimposed drawers. The originality also lies in its decorations: it is adorned with acanthus leaves, lion's paws, epaulettes and even rosettes which highlight its singular curves. It rests on eight arched legs, each with a gilded bronze tendril and ending in lion paws. Four winged women's heads (sphinxes) are distributed at the top of each volute. The original model is exhibited at the palace of versailles / the model presented is a creation from the second half of the 20th century h89 X 125 X 79.
