Reproduction of press Mode with the indications of the famous designer in the back: "Emmanuel UNGARO - Collection high Couture spring / summer 1988 - model No. 83 -"the blue silk gazar evening dress"- 2 avenue Montaigne Paris 75008". Colours black and white. Excellent condition. Sold no box. Format: 21 x 30 cm this sketch is really superb and framed, it will all just beautiful! (see my other ads; including BALMAIN and HANAE MORI originals) Biography: From the age of 9, Emanuel Ungaro begins by learning the profession of tailor with his father, in Aix-en-Provence. From a very modest family of Italian immigrants, he decided to join Paris and Barcelona at Balenciaga. It makes its classes is pointing out in the middle of luxury fashion. He spent 6 years and then 2 at Courrèges. He creates then opens his house of couture in 1965, in Paris and presents its 1st collection with little means. He designed both ready-to-wear and haute couture lines. His trademark: mixtures of printed, bright shades, an art of draping. In the 1980s, it is part of the 5 greats of Parisian couture, in this period of renewal of French fashion, this french designer defines himself as "sensual obsessed", he draws carnal clothes, Ungaro mind for each lady lives. At its inception, the House Emanuel Ungaro presents two shows a year. In 1967, the workshop of the creator moved avenue Montaigne, which is still its current headquarters. "Fashion designer who loves women" counts among its clients, from its beginnings, Jackie Kennedy and Liliane Bettencourt. His 1st collection, "Parallel", mainly consisting of coats and dresses trapezoids to multicolored prints, tartan, Plaid, or United is a success. It is distributed in 1970 to the United States and the Japan. The designer enters the men's ready-to-wear in 1973 with the opening of an exclusive shop. In 1977, the House of Ungaro installs a sign in New York. Emanuel Ungaro is regularly called upon by the french and international film stars. He dresses Catherine Deneuve, Gena Rowlands, Isabelle Adjani and regularly for Anouk Aimée in their films. The master imposed his style he wants challenging and free: extravagant prints, unique draping and associations of colors. These trademarks of Emanuel Ungaro are its parades of the top shows in color. He was awarded the gold of which rewards the best collection of high fashion in 1980. The House launches its 1st perfume, Diva, in 1983. In 1996, the House was bought by the Ferragamo family. In 1998, Emanuel Ungaro creates departments shoes and bags, glasses collections are born the following year. But, not being more master of his own House, he prefers to stop. He left the Paris fashion world may 26, 2004 after more than 35 years of collections. More photos on request.
