Ludvik Volak, the Czech sculpted wood divider
Ludvik Volak is a Czechoslovakian designer active in the 1960s and 70s, whose production of sculpted wood dividers has become in recent years one of the most sought-after interior separation signatures on the vintage market. His openwork panels in beech, pine or oak, with geometric or organic patterns, were used to structure the open spaces of modern Czech interiors. A confidential production, halfway between decorative art and sculptural joinery, rediscovered today for its graphic power.
Ludvik Volak openwork sculpted wood dividers remain the designer's most identifiable pieces. A vintage Czech decorative signature to find for those wanting to bring into their interior a unique divider, on the border between furniture and wall sculpture.
