Jo Hammerborg, Danish light of Fog & Mørup

Jo Hammerborg (1920-1982) is one of the great Danish post-war lighting designers. Design director of Fog & Mørup from 1957, he developed there for two decades a production of pendants, floor lamps and desk lamps where brass, polished copper and lacquered metal composed a warm and precise language. His Saturn, Apoteker and Orient pendants (the latter co-signed with Johannes Hammerborg) remain his most iconic pieces, exported throughout Europe and today particularly sought-after on the vintage market.
