Charming antique bust of a young woman in polychrome plaster from the Art Nouveau period, around 1900. The young woman is depicted with an elegant updo and a dress with puffed sleeves, adorned with a wide collar featuring floral relief decoration. Her delicately painted face contrasts beautifully with the patinated tones of the dress. The softness of the expression, the lines of the hairstyle, and the floral decoration of the collar are characteristic of the Art Nouveau aesthetic and the Belle Époque. The bust bears the incised marking "85 CF" on the back. It has retained a very beautiful antique patina, with some small chips and wear to the polychromy on the face and hairstyle, visible in the photographs and consistent with its age. Its small size, uncommon for this type of bust, gives it a particular charm and allows it to be easily placed on a shelf, a mantelpiece, or among a collection of antique objects.
