Armchair n°715 by Gustave Siegel for Kohn, 1905. Backhausen

Kohn armchair n°715, design by Gustave Siegel, model proven in 1899. The construction of the 715 is easily recognizable by its front legs which are the extension of the top of the backrest, in unendus from 1900 until 1940, always very appreciated. Thank you Mr. Siegel who was then only 20 years old! Excellent condition of cabinetwork. Mahogany shellac. Single piece of wood, it is the archetype of a whole series of armchairs and benches at Kohn and Thonet-Mu The current upholstery is in good condition and clean. However our upholsterer can reupholster this armchair with genuine Backhausen fabrics. Choice of up to 5 patterns possible (Hoffmann, Prutscher). On request, I send the available Backhausen fabrics and the overall upholstery quote. Remarkable original brass feet. Seat height: 47 cm, total height: 80 cm, depth: 53 cm, width: 55 cm.
