Antique Painted Folk Art Cupboard

Very characteristic folk art cabinet from the 18th century. This special cabinet was presumably used as a bread or bacon cabinet. The cabinet has two doors and a very ornate crest with a shelf. The whole is in the original paint, which is heavily worn. A nice detail is that the lower door is provided with the initials and the year (1932) of a restorer who once touched up the painting. Both doors can be locked and come with a key. Occasionally, some old woodworm traces are visible, which have of course been treated. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. These pieces of furniture were then placed on the farm in a show room, which was only rarely used for important visitors or special occasions. All our bridal cabinets have been checked and, if necessary, restored, although the characteristic appearance of these pieces has been preserved. This piece comes from Germany.
