Celadon ceramic cache-pot with floral Japanese-style decoration and fine leaf feet X

Large antique cache-pot in fine earthenware with a celadon green base, resting on three feet shaped like veined leaves. The hand-painted decoration features delicate flowering branches in shades of pink, white, and blue against a bright water green background, with finely traced brown foliage reminiscent of cherry and wisteria trees from the Japonisme repertoire. The flowers have a slight relief in slip, characteristic of productions from the late 19th century influenced by the Japonisme movement, which profoundly impacted European decorative arts from the 1860s to the 1880s. The style and quality of execution evoke the productions of French or Belgian earthenware factories of that time, such as Choisy-le-Roi, Sarreguemines, or Nimy.
