Magnificent antique American travel trunk, by Wheary Trunk Co, Racine, Wisconsin. Probably dating from the 1920s. This is the "Cushioned Top Wardrobe" model. Features: The trunk has retained a large part of its original fittings and elements: 5 wooden drawers with handles and Wheary markings. Wardrobe with wooden hangers and padded top system. Metal fittings, riveted construction, and metal reinforcements. Interior arranged and preserved in its original state. Manufacturer's label: Wheary Trunk Co, Racine Wisconsin. Original lock with its key. The leather carrying handle is broken, an old trace of moisture is visible on the top, signs of use are visible in the photos, 4 removable protective pads have been added to one side of the trunk, which can be easily removed. The trunk has not been repainted or altered and retains its original character and patina. Given the weight and volume, personal collection is preferred.
