Rare antique armoire-forte from France, dating from the late 18th to the mid-19th century (circa 1750–1850). Originally used to store money, valuables, and important documents, this compact armoire is handcrafted from exceptionally thick solid oak, while the door is made of solid chestnut. The armoire is assembled with handmade dovetail joints and thick 4 cm oak boards, reflecting the robust craftsmanship of the era. The chestnut door is reinforced with wrought iron bands and retains its original lock entry. The original lock is present but no longer functions. The wood has developed a beautiful natural patina over time, with shrinkage cracks, tool marks, surface wear, and other signs of age that contribute to its authentic character. Today, it serves as a beautiful decorative object, a small storage cabinet, or an example of antique French rural furniture collection. Dimensions. Width: 33 cm. Depth: 38 cm. Height: 28 cm. Weight. Approximately 12 kg.
