Two Large Antique Bambara (Mali) Palaver Chairs

Magnificent carved wooden palaver chairs, acquired in Mali between 2006 and 2009. Probably old (more than 50 years old), they have an openwork back decorated with a stylized crocodile, symbol of wisdom and power. Slight traces of use (wear of the wood without consequence on use), perfect functional condition. Usable as seats or dismantled as wall decoration. Although matching, the two armchairs are slightly different: once assembled the dimensions of the largest are 113 high with a back of approximately 87 cm while the other is 110 with a back of approximately 80 cm. They weigh 7.5 kilos each.
