Coffee Table by Heinz Lilienthal, Germany, 1960s-1970s. Round coffee table designed by German sculptor and designer Heinz Lilienthal (1927-2006), who was known for his metal, wood and concrete wall works and for his etched metal tables. The top is an etched stainless steel sheet with a mottled, mineral-like surface of tonal variations, almost like a map of an unknown landscape. It is set in a black wooden rim with a softly profiled edge and rests on three flat, angled legs in brushed metal. The low, wide proportions and the contrast between the dark rim, the textured top and the bright metal legs make it a strong centerpiece, equally at home in a modern interior or alongside 1970s design. Dimensions: Diameter 115 cm, height 44 cm. Condition: Good vintage condition. The etched top is in great condition. The black wooden rim shows some very light wear, consistent with age and use. The brushed metal legs show light surface marks and scratches from age.
