Magnificent incoignure with a curved façade, Opening to two fronts in rosewood frieze. Marble plate yellow and orange breach of provence. 18th century era, migeon stamped twice. Migeon pierre IV (1696-1758) - cabinetmaker - master's degree around 1725: the most famous of his lineage, pierre migeon iv, a cabinetmaker as well as a merchant, stands out for furniture with a tasty mix of tradition and modernity. Born into a family of craftsmen, all named pierre, pierre IV migeon is the son of pierre III migeon and judith measureur. Fourth in his lineage, he alone arouses the interest of amateurs. Presumably formed in the factory of his father or father-in-law, his activity was part of the first half of the 18th century while the use of stamps became widespread. Although his master's date remains hypothetical, his fame is known by many signed furniture, made from his factory on rue de charenton. The latter are delivered to a rich aristocratic clientele including the duke of orleans, the duchess of rohan, the duchess of epernon, marshal of noailles but also several bishops and ambassadors. As early as the 1740s, he delivered books for the crown furniture guard and the pleasure menus. It enjoys the protection of the marquise de pompadour. He also has many clients in france and abroad. Although migeon's profession is that of cabinetmaker, he also practises as a merchant. He collaborated with many cabinetmakers - among the most renowned of his time - such asbircklé, canabas, criaerd, jacques dubois, lacroix, saunierou againtopino. The stamp of these cabinetmakers is thus often visible not far from that of the merchant.
