Wäinö Aaltonen “Keinumorsian” Ceramic Wall Plate – Kupittaan Savi, Finland

An impressive vintage Finnish ceramic wall plate featuring the celebrated Keinumorsian (Bride on a Swing) design by renowned sculptor Wäinö Aaltonen (1894–1966), produced by Kupittaan Savi during the first half of the 20th century. The sculptural composition depicts a female figure on a swing, captured in an expressive, flowing movement. Its beautiful speckled sea-green glaze enhances the three-dimensional relief, lending the piece a distinctive artistic character. Crafted from red earthenware, this substantial decorative plate reflects the craftsmanship of early Finnish art ceramics. The raised foot ring on the reverse features holes for wall mounting, the uper hole broke, but can still be hung through the two oppsite holes. Measuring approximately 33 cm in diameter, it makes a wonderful statement piece for collectors of Scandinavian design and vintage studio ceramics. In a correct vintage condition.
