Pair of brass and gold-plated lamps by George Mathias, 1970

Sublime pair of hollywood regency style lamps by georges mathias, a belgian designer known for his work in bronze and glass in the 70s. The lamp consists of a black lacquered base, a brass frame containing the engraved artwork plated with 23 carat gold. The lamps were handcrafted and represent a natural scene. Each lamp is signed “designo maho”, maho being a pseudonym that mathias used for the pieces he sold in the flemish part of belgium.
