A unique sculptural armchair created in 1992 by Dutch artist Joop Evers in collaboration with Frans Bolscher. Inspired by the Ginkgo Biloba tree, the chair combines organic, flowing forms with expressive craftsmanship, blurring the line between functional furniture and sculpture. The solid wood was shaped by hand and finished using a flame-burning technique followed by chalk paint, creating darkened surfaces, lighter tones and visible wood grain. The aged finish gives the chair a distinctive texture and natural patina. A true unica and striking example of Dutch sculptural furniture from the early 1990s. About the Artists. Frans Bolscher developed the artistic concepts, while Joop Evers contributed the technical craftsmanship and woodworking skills required to realise the designs. Their collaboration resulted in highly individual sculptural furniture combining artistic vision with traditional woodworking techniques. Condition. Very good condition, with minimal signs of wear consistent with age and use. The wood shows a beautiful natural patina and original flame-treated, chalk-painted finish. Details.
