A pendant lamp designed by c. Bolby for cebo industri in the 1960s. The lamp consists of yellow acrylic panels, inside there are green inserts that give an interesting effect when the light is turned on, the panels are "aerated" with tiny bubbles. Brass elements alternate with acrylic. The whole thing hangs on a golden soffit and chain. The luminaire is for a bulb with a large thread. Claus bolby worked as a technician in the royal danish air force. In his spare time, he was interested in art, including painting and working with wood and acrylic. Claus turned to lighting design and won a contract to produce pendant lighting for a newly built and modern church in strandby in north jutland. In 1969, the danish lighting company lyskjaer belysning took over the distribution of the increasingly popular lamps. In the early 1970s, lyskjaer was ordering 1, 000 of the most popular models a month. In 1974 cebo industri moved to a larger factory in silkeborg, most of the machines used on the cebo industri production line were built by bolby himself. During this time, bolby was also producing lamps for other leading danish lighting companies, including lyfa and nordisk solar compagni. In the late 1970s, the demand for colored acrylic lamps plummeted, and minimalist lighting dominated the interior design trend. At that time, claus bolby started designing technical lights and spotlights. Claus's "forgotten" acrylic lamps are gaining new interest today both in denmark and internationally. The lamp is in great condition with slight traces of use. It is operational and ready for assembly. The lamp is unique, it's hard to find another one the same: ) Dimensions: height of the lamp itself - 23 cm. Diameter - 24 cm. Overhang - 24 cm.
