Traditional handmade grey and white black carpet 76x149cm

Tapis or margoum of southern tunisia, according to its heritage name, was hand-woven by women artists, craftsmen, in a village in southwestern tunisia. It is woven in natural wool on a cotton weft thread for firmness. The weaving of the margoum is generally not framed and it is the result of the imagination of the artisan who switches between diamonds, rectangles, triangles and lines of berber motifs and symbols.
