Ancient painting by Giuseppe Buscaglione, oil on canvas, 19th century.

Oil on canvas. Signed in the bottom left. The work of Giuseppe Buscaglione, primarily landscape-oriented, is characterised by a focus on light and colour, meticulously studied from life, with a particular interest in the atmospheric and temporal variations of nature. Like his master Delleani, he would even note on the back of his canvases the location, date, and weather conditions under which he created his works. This mountain view (probably from the Piedmont Alps, his homeland) depicts a lush valley with grazing cows and fir trees, under a grey sky filled with clouds. The painting is presented in a plaster frame from the early 20th century (slight cracks).
