Walnut burl commode, Italian Art Deco, 1940s.

Italian walnut burl Art Deco chest of drawers, 1940s. The spectacular pattern of the walnut veneer used to cover each surface of this chest of drawers is breathtaking and showcases the exceptional skill of early 20th-century wood artisans in Italy. The unique character of this piece is accentuated by the rounded corners and the front with a square top shape, as well as the Art Deco style of the plinth base that supports it. There are four spacious drawers with patterned plastic and brass handles. A few small chips on the plastic parts can be found on the handles. (Visible in the photos) There is only one original key for the first drawer. The last handle on the right features a slightly different small brass sphere, barely noticeable (visible in the photos). In very good original condition, despite some scratches (visible in the photos), consistent with age and use. It has been refreshed only with wax, preserving its splendid natural patina after years. It shows a few minimal moth holes on the left base. Measurements: Width 121 cm X Height 92.5 cm X Depth 57 cm. Made in Italy. Period: 1940s.
