This ancient popular ceramic jug is a spouted jug with amber speckled glaze and a side handle. It originates from Central Europe, from the first half of the 20th century, in popular glazed pottery. The popular glazed ceramics equipped the kitchen and pantry of the rural home, for serving and preserving. Its earthenware and glaze were suited for daily use. The piece is hand-turned in earthenware and covered with glaze, featuring the irregular texture typical of traditional pottery. It retains its shape and function. The amber glaze, speckled with dark, shows the drips from the kiln and a warm sheen on the ovoid body. The surface retains the wear typical of use. By its shape and glaze, it can be used as a vase, table piece, or accent in a kitchen or on a shelf. It fits into rustic, country, and wabi-sabi interiors, where it brings colour and warmth.
