Very interesting model with its two drawers featuring richly moulded fronts, adorned with silver keyholes and original locks. Each has a functional key, both for the lower and upper drawers. More photos on my website, les-meubles-terra. The "cardboard" section is original as it consists of cardboard drawers (not standard cardboard), which can be completely retracted if necessary. In their original covering, dark green paper on the front, with snake skin patterns on the sides and cream inside, they all have their pull handles in the shape of a rosette and made of bronze. The contrast against the dark background is superb. Moreover, it works wonderfully with the entire piece, as the walnut has been sanded and revarnished, offering a very light, natural shade that highlights its grain and depth. The side plinths are mounted on hinges and, when locked, restrict access to the drawers if necessary. They feature original vertical locks. They are functional with a key for both (the left one is a bit more temperamental but works without issue). These notary's furniture pieces were professional items; this one was high-end, with its precious wood and meticulous finishes (notably the quality of the moulded strips throughout the piece). It has indeed been used, and there are signs of wear in the drawers, but all are old and pose no risk of staining. Some splits have been repaired on the sides (as is almost always the case with solid wood) and on the top, but this does not affect the sturdiness or practicality of a piece that is undeniably beautiful... And very space-saving! H: 138.5 cm. W: 61.5 cm. D: 40 cm. Interior of a drawer: 30 X 23 X 16 (h) cm. My prices are firm, thank you. Delivery possible in Île-de-France and ground floor for 40 euros. Delivery throughout France via Cocolis (upon estimate).
