Marine writing box with secrets in rosewood period nineteenth circa 1850

Marine writing box with secrets in rosewood period nineteenth circa 1850. Rectangular in shape and locked and decorated with spandrels, a lock entrance and a badge all in gilded brass. The open box reveals a writing part with inclined plane wrapped in black leather and accompanied by several compartments with two glass inkwells and gold stoppers. The writing part opens with two lids concealing two large mahogany storage niches. The compartment of the right inkwell contains a system to release a skirting board located in the storage niche under the writing board and reveals two small secret drawers. The leather is reinforced in the center by an adhesive. Size: Height: 14 cm. Length: 40 cm. Width: 24 cm.
