Ball vase signed Jacquet

Glazed ceramic with polychrome floral decoration. Round-shaped vase in glazed ceramic, bearing an incised signature "Jacquet" under the base. On a cream background, a decoration of stylised orange flowers, green foliage, and blue geometric patterns unfolds. Their regular arrangement highlights the curves of the body. The flared neck, bordered with a dark glaze, complements the black interior of the vase. A decorative piece with contrasting colours, whose decoration evokes the Art Deco style. Paul Jacquet (1883–1968), a ceramicist based in Annecy, contributed to the revival of artistic pottery in Savoy. His creations combine utilitarian shapes with stylised vegetal or geometric decorations, in the spirit of the decorative arts of the interwar period. Overall good condition. Some losses of glaze under the base and around its edge, visible in the photographs. No cracks or restorations. Careful packaging, suitable for the fragility of the piece.
