Pair of Carved Solid Oak Wardrobe Doors – 19th Century. (Shorter alternative if needed: Antique Carved Oak Wardrobe Doors 19th Century) Superb pair of wardrobe doors (or panel doors) from the 19th century made of natural solid oak, left in their beautiful light raw patina. These doors stand out for the delicacy of their relief carvings, typical of the period style: high and mid rails in sinuous gendarme hat shapes, adorned with leafy scrolls, delicate floral motifs, and olive or laurel branches at the upper corners. The central post (stile glued to the left door) features lovely typical fluting and carved ear motifs. Ideal for a high-end renovation project, to create a charming wardrobe, dress a dressing room, or be repurposed as a unique room divider. General condition: Good overall condition for their age. The wood has a superb natural and warm hue. Presence of original lace fittings and old chiselled metal lock entries. Period lock present on the back. A light cleaning or finish (wax, oil) may be considered depending on your projects. • Period: 19th century. • Material: Natural solid oak. • Total dimensions (overall): ◦ Height: 181 cm. ◦ Total width: 128 cm. ◦ Thickness: 3 cm. • Individual dimensions: ◦ Left door (with central stile): 70 cm wide. ◦ Right door: 58 cm wide. • Included elements: Fittings (hinges), key entries, original lock case on the back (without key).
