We are presenting a 1930s Art Deco extending dining table that proudly wears its history. This piece is dedicated to lovers of true vintage aesthetics and the wabi-sabi philosophy, where beauty is found in authenticity and the passage of time. DESIGN AND HONEST RESTORATION The tabletop is covered in premium walnut burl veneer, featuring a beautiful and rare octagonal geometric inlay in the center. During the restoration process in our workshop, we made a conscious, conservation-based decision. Rather than completely replacing the highly damaged original 90-year-old veneer with modern wood, we meticulously repaired it. The main tabletop features careful inlays and slight imperfections in the grain pattern. Because the original extension leaf was lost to time, we custom-built a new 40 cm leaf to restore the table's full functionality. The shade of the new leaf slightly differs from the decades-old veneer of the main tops, narrating the honest story of its revitalization. MODERN FINISH The table has been completely stripped of old varnishes and finished with premium hard wax oil. This provides a natural, satin-matte touch and makes the surface highly resistant to water, alcohol, and heat. You can use this historic piece daily without the need for a tablecloth.
